How it works
- Where: Voice/Video (or Video) step → Tags tab (beside Interview Questions).
- Suggested vs custom: HeyMilo generates suggested tags for you based on the role and interview setup. Use them as-is, edit them, or add your own with + Add New Tag when you need something specific (e.g. work authorization, location, a custom multiple-choice list).
- What happens: For each tag, the model extracts values from the conversation using your name, format, and instructions (and options when you use multiple choice).
- Scoring: Tags never add, remove, or weight score. They’re for scanning the report and filtering the candidate list by extracted values.
Where to click
Add your own tag (+ Add New Tag)
When you create a custom tag, you’ll see fields like:- Tag name: Clear label on the report (e.g. work authorization, location).
- Response format: Text (multiple choice), Freeform, Date, or Number (pick what fits how you want answers captured).
- Options: If you chose multiple choice, add at least one option (e.g. specific locations or categories).
- Instructions: What the system should listen for and how to interpret answers. Good instructions = more accurate tagging.

Add New Tag — name, response format, options (when applicable), and instructions for the AI.
On the Tags tab (overview)
Suggested tags and any you added appear together here. Reorder with the handle on the card; edit or delete as needed.
Tags tab — suggested and custom tags; does not affect score.
Quick fixes
- Tag empty or wrong: Tighten Instructions; for multiple choice, add or fix options.
- Expected tag to change score: It won’t. Adjust evaluation criteria on questions instead.
- No Tags tab: Open the Voice Interview / Video step (not SMS-only).
