Talking to Candidates About AI

Scripts, email templates, and FAQ answers so you can explain AI interviews clearly.

What to Tell Candidates

  1. What it is — “You’ll be screened by an AI interviewer as part of our process.”
  2. Why — “So we can evaluate everyone consistently and move quickly.”
  3. How — “You’ll answer questions; the AI may ask follow-ups based on your answers.”
  4. Duration — “About 10–15 minutes.”
  5. Privacy — “Responses are recorded and reviewed by our hiring team.”
  6. Fairness — “Everyone is evaluated with the same criteria.”

Pre-Interview Email

Will a human see my answers? (recruiter wording)

What to tell candidates
  • Yes — a human is in the loop. HeyMilo’s AI builds a score report; someone on your hiring team reviews the report and the candidate’s answers — not the AI alone.
Sharing the report with the candidate Candidates can receive the same report your team sees if you enable Email Report to Candidate:
  • When creating / editing the interviewer — In setup, open Advanced Settings (or equivalent for your flow) and turn Email Report to Candidate onSend interview report after completion.
  • After completion (change anytime) — Open the agent (interviewer)SettingsAdvanced SettingsEmail Report to Candidateon (Send interview report after completion).
Use this when candidates ask whether they can see their results or get a copy of the analysis — it’s optional and controlled by your team. More on posting and agent Settings: Configuring Your AI Interviewer.

Recruiter Tips

  • Say it’s AI upfront — Transparency improves completion and reduces anxiety.
  • Set expectations — Length, question style, and what happens next.
  • Offer a human contact — For technical or other issues.
  • Disclosures — Set any required legal disclosures in your posting’s Settings tab; see Configuring Your AI Interviewer.
